Celebrate AAJA Seattle’s 40th anniversary with us during #AAJA25 at our chapter reception!
Join us at 6 p.m. July 31 at the Wing Luke Museum as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the AAJA Seattle Chapter! Enjoy food from Ballard Mandarin and mix and mingle with our Seattle chapter family. Access to Wing Luke Museum exhibits is included. Based in the heart of Seattle’s Chinatown International District, Wing Luke is the nation’s only pan-Asian Pacific American community based museum in the U.S. RSVP is required to this free event.
Volunteer for #AAJA25
Students:
The AAJA convention is coming to Seattle at the end of the month, and we are looking for energetic local students who can help us with Swag Bag Prep on Tuesday, July 29, at the Sheraton Grand Seattle. Volunteering is a great way to get to know what goes on behind the scenes for large scale conventions like ours, and is perfect for anyone interested in event planning and networking–especially if you are interested in journalism and AAPI representation and storytelling.
- If you can volunteer all day (9am-5pm) you will receive complimentary convention registration*! We don’t think it will take all day, and we’ll let you go as soon as we’re done. *Gala separate.
- If you can volunteer for at least four hours in the morning, you will get to take home your very own swag bag ahead of everybody else!
If you are interested, please sign up here (look for “Swag Bag Preparation (Student Invitation Only)” on Tuesday July 29) and make sure you let Volunteer Coordinator Kassie Chen know at kassiec@aaja.org. If you have any questions, she can answer them. Deadline is Friday, July 11.

The Seattle chapter cannot wait to host the AAJA family in our city. The PNW is not only a beautiful part of the country, but also a place with deep roots in AAPI culture and history. From the landmarks, attractions, shopping, outdoors – Seattle has something for everyone.
The Seattle board is coordinating with the national convention team to put together tours and activities. We want to hear from YOU and what you want to do while at convention.
