About AAJA Chef Showcase

Where can you watch live demonstrations from top chefs from Seattle’s food scene, nosh on a wide array of delicious food and enjoy spectacular views of the Emerald City — all for a good cause? Every year the Seattle chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association has held the AAJA Seattle Chef Showcase at the Columbia Tower Club.

Some of the most exciting chefs working in the Seattle food scene today are donating their time to demonstrate recipes. Past participants include Lisa Nakamura of Gnocchi Bar, Garrett Doherty of Kraken Congee, Jutamas Kwan Kanjanamai of Noi Thai, Kenneth Lee of Lionhead, Prometheus Brown and Chera Amlag of Food & Sh_t/Hood Famous Bakery, Yenvy Pham of Pho Bac, Eduardo Jordan of Salare, Rachel Yang, a James Beard-nominated chef and co-owner of Joule and Revel, and many more.

Beverages have been provided by Tranche Cellars and Fremont Brewing.

So what are you waiting for? Tickets for this event are limited. Come up for the view. Stay for the food, booze and great company.

ABOUT AAJA SEATTLE

Since 1985, AAJA Seattle has provided scholarships for students, professional development for journalists and service to the community in the Pacific Northwest.

The Seattle chapter promotes the association’s three-part mission:
– To encourage young Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to enter the ranks of journalism.
– To promote fair and accurate coverage of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
– To increase the number of Asian American and Pacific Islander journalists and news managers in the industry.
