AAJA convention scholarship deadline EXTENDED to June 12

We’ve extended the deadline to NOON June 12 for the AAJA Seattle Founder’s Scholarship. AAJA Seattle can help one student pay for registration to the 2009 AAJA National Convention in Boston. Take a break from your summer internship to talk to hiring editors and recruiters at newspapers across the country. It’s a chance to make connections for future internships and jobs. The AAJA convention is also a chance to meet other journalists throughout the country and get inspired in your work and career.

Please apply for the AAJA Seattle Founder’s Scholarship by noon June 12, which is a Friday. To apply, please submit a 500-word statement on what you hope to learn at the conference. Send the statement to AAJA Seattle at aajaseattle@gmail.com with the phrase “Founder’s Scholarship” in the subject line.

The recipient will be responsible for airfare, lodging and any other incidentals. He or she may be able to split a room with another journalist attending the conference. The chapter has members going to the convention who may still be looking for a roommate. This year’s convention is Aug. 12-15.
