Join us in honoring our 2020 NJC scholarship winners

We are celebrating aspiring student journalists in Washington state who have won this year’s Northwest Journalists of Color Scholarships, the AAJA Seattle Founders Scholarship, the NJC-PNW Guild Conference Scholarship and the. The event will be held online via Zoom on, August 1st at 5 p.m. Please RSVP here.

We’ll hear from keynote speaker, Omari Salisbury –COO and Founder of Converge Media, a leading producer of content for black and urban audiences, and we’ll also invite each of the scholarship winners to briefly speak about their career ambitions.

Finally, a special thank you to this year’s judges: Naomi Ishisaka, Agueda Pacheco Flores and Ramon Dompor for their help with judging the Journalists of Color reporting scholarship and Founders scholarship; and Danny Gawlowski, Corinne Chin, Ramon Dompor and Soumita Bhattacharya for their help judging the Visual Journalism scholarship; and the Pacific Northwest Newspaper Guild for their help judging and coordinating the NJC-PNW Guild Conference Scholarship.
